Leaked Skyrim Map Reveals Inspiration From A Game of Thrones

The highly anticipated Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim's game map has been leaked, revealing key layouts and locations within the game's expansive world.

Upon further scrutiny, I did instantly garner a hint of George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire in at least one prime location.

The town of Winterhold is visible in the far north-eastern region of the map.

If you've ever delved into the amazing and highly recommended books, you should instantly recognise the town of the freezing north, Winterfell.

What is that you say? Where is the sigil of the direwolf? Oh, it's there alright.

This makes for quite an interesting recipe for Skyrim.

There's also the Sea of Ghosts north of Winterhold. A reference to the White Walkers maybe?

Whiterun...Riverrun?

The Stag sigil is also found south of the map.

There's a lot going on that reminds of A Game of Thrones. Or maybe I'm just paranoid...

Interesting stuff!
